SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Nature and Scope:
The successful candidate will work in the Technical Services Department and report to Manager: Technical Services. She/he will be involved in all technical matters related to construction cost management, including construction costs estimates and analysis, tender analysis, quantity take off in building structures and roads, project cost investigations etc.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Essential
1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics, Construction Economics and Management and Construction Management.
2. Possession of a Masters’ Degree will be an added advantage.
3. Minimum of five (5) years working experience as a Quantity Surveyor and related disciplines in reputable institutions
4. Must be registered by the Architect and Quantity Surveying Board AQRB);
5. A good knowledge of the local construction industry

Preferred
1. Understanding of construction industry legislation and regulations
2. Ability to forge working relationships with peers, clients and other stakeholders
3. Good relationship management and communication skills
4. High degree of integrity and well developed interpersonal skills
5. Demonstrated innovative approaches to problem solving and ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment.





SENIOR VALUER

Nature and Scope:
The successful candidate will work in the Technical Services Department and report to Manager: Technical Services. She/he will be involved in all property management related matters including valuations, appraisals, property studies etc.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Essential
1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Management & Valuation; Real Estate (Finance & Investment); Property & Facilities Management.
2. Possession of a Masters’ Degree will be an added advantage.
3. Minimum of five (5) years working experience as a Valuer and related disciplines in reputable institutions
4. Must be registered by the Valuation & Valuers Registration Board; former National Council of Professional Surveyor (NCPS)
5. A good knowledge of the local property industry
6. Excellent written and communication skills in English
7. Well-developed interpersonal skills.
8. Must be computer literate and able to use essential professional software programs fluently

Preferred
1. Understanding of construction industry legislation and regulations
2. Ability to forge working relationships with peers, clients and other stakeholders
3. Good relationship management and communication skills
4. High degree of integrity and well developed interpersonal skills

SENIOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT EXPERT

Nature and Scope:
The successful candidate will work in the.Technical Services Department and report to Manager: Technical Services. She/he will be responsible for identifying, coordinating and implementing identified bank project interventions that support national industrial development.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Essential
1. Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Economics or Development Economics, Industrial Engineering and Management with an emphasis on industrialization;
2. Minimum of five (5) years working experience in industrial development work,
3. Demonstrated technical knowledge of industrial development issues;
4. Excellent written and communication skills in English
5. Well-developed interpersonal skills.
6. Good presentational and reporting skills
7. Strong management skills, including the ability to provide strategic guidance, technical oversight, and to work in multi-cultural environment.
8. Must be registered by the respective Professional Board

Essential
1. Bachelor Degree of Science in Civil and . Structural Engineering, a bridge knowledge of Architectural

3. Minimum of five (5) years working experience as a Quantity Surveyor and related disciplines in reputable institutions
4. Must be registered by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB)

Background / General description

The World Bank Tanzania Country Office requires the services of a Receptionist on a 3-year term appointment. The Receptionist will be responsible mainly for receiving the clients as the first point of contact; providing general assistance with correspondence and information inquiries. This position works closely with and reports to the Executive Assistant under the overall supervision of the Country Director.

Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. All others will be offered a 3 year term appointment.

Duties and Accountabilities

Greets, assists and announces clients, vendors and others in the office.
Provides appropriate basic responses and directs visitors to appropriate individuals.
Provide a high-quality telephone service (the switchboard) - answering queries, taking accurate phone messages and ensure that they are routed in a timely manner to the intended recipient and in an efficient, pleasant and effective manner. Update the staff contacts list and distribute monthly.
Updating visiting missions staff list on a daily basis Maintain an up-to-date Emergency Contact List for the Country Office staff and visitors. Manages incoming and outgoing mail, ensure that any mail addressed to the Country Office is properly registered and reaches the Front Office as quickly as possible. Working with the Transport Coordinator, arrange a timely distribution of incoming and outgoing mails from/to the Bank clients as well as internal recipients; record official letter dispatches by keeping a detailed log.
Working with the Office Assistant, handle all incoming and outgoing courier/pouch and ensure staff provide the relevant charge codes and ensuring that courier track and trace lists are updated.
Receive courier invoices, sort and check the courier bills before payment, and prepare the payment memo with the relevant charge codes. Receive vendor invoices and ensure they are recorded and routed to relevant staff for further processing.
Assists internal and external clients with general inquiries and/or provides guidance.
Supports logistics coordination for conferences, workshops, retreats, learning events, send invitations to participants and follow up on confirmation of attendance as necessary. Maintain an up-to-date database of Government Officials, Donors, UN agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, vendors and other institutions and persons regularly associated with the work of the Country Office.
Ensure a neat and tidy appearance of reception and waiting area. Provide back-up support to other ACS staff as needed.
Provide general office support as required and assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the Country Office.

1. Drive the achievement of contacted targets in the branch

2. Customer Service and Relationship Building

• Schedule calls with the existing and target clients to create close relations and discuss cross selling opportunities in line with the banks focus

• Accountability for enhancement of customer service, ensure that the highest standards of Customer Service is provided to all clients

• Ensure complaints are timely logged and actioned, tracker is maintained, resolution and respond to client is done within a reasonable time

• Manage the banking relationships for portfolio of high net worth customer which may include senior local political figures and well known business people

• Conduct regular customer visits and motivate focused social events and individual entertainment in order to build long-term relationships

• Take accountability for the relationship with the client, across all hierarchical levels, which incorporates integrating and coordinating all contacts between the bank and the client.


3. Compliance and Risk Management (adherence to banks policies and procedure)

• Manage the implementation of all processes and procedures as stipulates in all branch operation manuals

• Ensure all reports and returns are prepared and submitted on time as required

• Adhere to the management of security items such as keys and safe combinations

• Ensure snap checks are conducted regularly as per the manuals

• Ensure adherence to all banks process, policies and procedure manuals

• Ensure adherence to banks risk and control policies

• Build awareness for the team and keep yourself updated with regard to KYC, COMPLIANCE and AML regulations


4. Monitor and Control Credit Portfolio


• Ensure credit applications are efficiently analyzed in accordance with the DCB Bank PLC credit policy, process and procedure

• Ensure excess are promptly addresses and reported, no account overdue

• Ensure timely renewal of credit facilities to avoid extensions

• Ensures insurance covers on business with credit facilities and securities are in place and up to date. • Manage the visits of clients and verification of stocks and debtors plus preparation of visit reports

• Monitor performance of clients' accounts and proactively propose remedial measures where applicable. • Ensure the payment of land rent on properties held as security where applicable

• Review the portfolio from a compliance perspective on a monthly basis and ensure that all documentation required for all client including those related to KYC, AML and SANCTIONS are up to date.


5. Learning and Growth (People Management and Career Development)


• Populate balanced scorecards for the team, ensure all staff have signed balanced scorecard and role profiles. Monthly healthy checks are done work with the team to address shortcoming during the next month. Escalate any major issues identified to the Director Branch Services

• Address poor performance of any team members through the formal Performance Accelerator program and ensure that continued poor performance

• Develop high performing team by conducting o performance discussions and assisting employees to prepare the portfolio of evidence for formal performance development discussions
